No smoke without fire

A poll by a pro-smoking lobby group suggests seven in ten people do not want a ban on smoking in pubs and bars. A survey by Forest claims most people want restrictions on smoking rather than an outright ban in public places. Use Smoke White Paper as a Springboard Says AIR

The Atmosphere Improves Results (AIR) initiative today urged licensees to use the publication of the Government’s plans on smoking as a ‘springboard’ to sort out their smoking policies. ‘Some pubs and groups have stalled on their smoking improvements, saying that smoking was about to be banned. Happier Staff

Independent Research carried out a survey of London pubs and found that 85% of staff were 'comfortable' or 'very comfortable' when the establishment had upgraded to the Charted "Ventilation Premises" standard. the survey also found that customers would stay longer as well as opt for a Charted premises over a none premises one (AIR 2004) click here for more.
